So I'm doing some testing on this GeForce 3 Ti200 I bought the other day for the Apple... I've got it clocked @ 200/230 (as that's what it'll be running at in the Apple) and I've got it in the Xeon system to see if it's stable.

Stick my hand in the computer to feel the back of the GPU... miss, shove my middle finger into the bottom CPU fan instead (the CPU fan is like <1/4" from the AGP slot on this thing)... The retail Xeon fans are 60x25mm Sanyo-Denki fans that are similar to the Delta EHEs. They can hit something like 6000 or 7000rpms going flat out... these ones are thermally controlled, but it was still spinning at like 4500rpms at the time, and the blades are very thick as far as fan blades go...

But yeah, it seems like every time I do this someone asks for pics. Well, this time I got one. Enjoy. (note that those of you that dislike the sight of blood will want to not scroll down)

P.S I am the king of slicing myself open on the inside of computer cases when I'm putting in cards etc ..

try a 92 mm solid aluminum fan. yes, the blades where aluminum too. i had to use super glue to close up the wound. nearly lost my entire fingernail. needless to say, i dont have the fan any more.

You know it always amuses me when I hear "I got my finger in a fan and it cut me" because I've had my finger(s) get into more than a few fans and have yet to get anything other than the occasional broken fan blade.

I've had my fingers in everything from 60mm delta black labels to 120mm NMB's spinning close to 3000rpm's (and that much mass moving even at that slow of a speed still stings a bit) to the flex fan on my old Pontiac and haven't broken the skin yet *knocks on wood*

Sorry ya got bit there Geeky, that does suck.
