How far can a K7S5A Pro go?

I have a K7S5A Pro I that Geeky1 bought for me. I know the CPU is good for much more than the RAM or mobo can do. I have some PC133 in there atm.

I was wondering how far this motherboard will go. 145-150?

I heard about a hacked OCing BIOS for this motherboard as well? I dont see many overclocking options in the BIOS other than setting CPU to 166 with RAM at 133.

Hacked BIOS allows various levels of FSB overclocking control.

You'll get about 145 out of it.

Thrax, just out of curiosity- do you know why it would max out @ ~145, when there's an option in the BIOS for 166?

    I'll answer this one:

The onboard timer of the K7S5A is rather ill-designed to reach a speed of 166. However, people have removed this timer from other mobos, and replaced the K7S5A's with it. After such an operation, people have gotten the board to reach 166 (CPU/MEM permitting).

It's a rather delicate procedure, btw.
