Just bought madballs' dfi Lanparty nf3 mobo and noticed the NB has a passive POS for a heatsink. What is the best / cost effective heatsink to put on it? I mean i know the switcy is good but damn 32 bucks for a NB cooler! :bawling:

Yes i do plan on Ocing

it's one of those little things... that's probably all it needs. and it has to clear the video card dude. If that's not enough, get one of the Zalman ZM-NB32Js and stick a 40mm fan on that. Or this Coolermaster thing: http://www.svc.com/pac-p01-19.html and stick a fan on that. Hell, there's this thing too http://www.svc.com/slc-s41-u1-19.html

You could also get a video card cooler like the Iceberq 4. But again, you've gotta clear the video card dude... which means I tend to doubt that anything much bigger than the stock heatsink would fit. And I don't think the nf3 runs that hot anyhow.

Why not get a waterblock and throw on it? I mean you do have the Reserator sitting right there...

The microcool northy cooler is supposedly excellent from what I've read about it in the abit forums and I've always wanted one. It won't fit with my 947u on my nf7-sv2 though.

It's $29.95 all copper and comes with fan and blackened aluminum mofset sinks to boot. Idunno I just thougt I'd throw that at you in case you weren't already aware gnome.

If i get my next paycheck in time (1 week from now) i will try to get it from you. I am very interested in it.

fyi, either of the thermalrights will fit with an xp-90....they should since they are from the same company!
