I agree with prime. On both accounts. I cannot wait for the new zelda. I played the hell out of both the ones on the N64, and then Wind Waker. WW was a really good game. Too many people bashed it because it looked "too cartoon-like and childish."Yes, I was a bit disappointed when they announced it would be cel-shaded, but playing it quickly changed my mind.

Anyway, back to the topic. w00t for the new Zelda!

I never did beat WW. I was very dissappointed with the cel Shading. It fails to keep my intrest. I am in the wind dungeon now. Am I close to the end? If so I will tough it out and try and beat it.

Did you guys require a guide to know wtf to do next? I sure did.

I still say that the 16 bit SNES Zelda was the best yet. Fantastic game. Picked it up on GBA just to go through it again. Never needed any outside help to find out where to go next.

WindWaker is probably my favorite Zelda game, although Majora's Mask is a close second.

The whole "you have 72 hours to save the world" thing is just awesome.

FF: Please finish the game, the end battle is totally worth it. You'll be glad you did :)

Has anyone played the new GBA zelda, The Minish Cap?

I have played 2 Zelda's one for the N64 and one for the Nintendo. I enjoyed both, but I seldom ever finish single player games. I'd LOVE to replay the Ocirina of Time again, but for my Nintendo DS since I dont have my N64 anymore as I sold it so I could have some money, which is why I never beat it :(

Check your local EB for a preplayed copy of the Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask special edition disc that you got if you pre-ordered WW. That is, if you have a Gamecube.

//Edit: And WW is my favorite as well. Majora's mask was cool but I think I liked Ocarina of Time better. :)

Ok, all of this Zelda talk has given me the feva fo the flava of the Zelda. ;D

Ill probably pick up tonight where I left off.

So is the Wind Dungeon close to the end?

I am prolly naming it wrong, but its a a dungeon that u have to use the leaf thingy a lot to do glide manuvers. There are like wind gysers I think.

Oh man, it's been a year since I played that game. I'm having trouble remembering.

Perhaps I'll have to pick it up again and replay it :eek3:

I think this Zelda game is enough to make me buy a GameCube...and that's a big thing, since I said I wouldn't go the Nintendo route after the N64...although Ocarina of Time was well worth it, to me...

Alright so I actually watched the video, and while I won't take back my previous post that "Zelda is t3h Lame" its possible that this Zelda game will be quite good. too bad its on GC

Looks way more appealing than the cartoony-looking ones of the past. It looks like fun, my only complaint is the animations don't look very refined. That, and it's on GC.

Personally I like the gamecube a LOT. In MANY cases I have been more impressed with what its ATI chip can do than my XBOX's nvidia chip (RE4 anyone?).

It doesnt get near as much play time as my xbox. But I have like 300 xbox games, and 4 for the cube (I get xbox games at a discount).

And the small cubic look of the cube? I think it looks awesome. Way better than the big clunky XBOX. I think its designed much better, the way the cooling is done and whatnot.

Only gripe is that there is no HDTV capabilities. That would have been nice, but you cant have everything.

Haha. Not really a valid excuse. You're saying that, assuming you own/would purchase an XBox/PS2, you wouldn't buy an XBox/PS2 if it were purple/pink/kiddy-colored? I don't think the external appearance reflects the internal hardware.

And I like your points FormFactor. The lack of HD capability kind of sucks, but it does have some fantastic graphic abilities, and some very good games.

Nintendo has consistently put out some of the most (re)playable, enjoyable, and just plain famous games ever made. Usually there is at least 5-10 "MUST HAVE" games for each Nintendo console. Mario, Metroid, Zelda, Star Wars fighters, etc. And when I spend $40-$50 on a video game, it becomes a cherished part of my collection, and I don't feel as if I've ever gotten ripped off or cheated on a nintendo purchase doom 3. I mean, I still play my SNES because the games are just that good. I bust out the N64 all the time, and the gamecube just rules.

I don't know, the graphics are excellent, the games are REALLY fun, and it's a tiny little system with awesome wireless controllers. Call me a fan.

Dude, the Wavebird is THE BEST wireless video game console controller I've ever used. *hugs his wavebird*

YES! Miyamoto, if you're reading this, if I was capable of having children, I'd want yours.

I LOVED all the Zelda games that I've played (N64, GBA, GC). To be honest... I've never finished a single one. I'm dead close on MM and WW (and the SNES port of A Link to the Past on GBA). I just never finish. Part of me thinks it's because I'll have finished it, and hence no more (new) greatness shall come of it. The other part calls that part a lazy oaf.

And my dumbass brother lost my memory card for GC, so I'd have to start WindWaker all over :bawling:

Any idea on a release date (so I know when to plan on not eating or sleeping)?

    Jerktard.

It's just so hard to rebuild my enthusiasm if I have to start over. And I want good speakers (in room) with big TV (downstairs) :(. I'll piss and moan till the cows come home, too.

I don't have a problem with the hardware itself (although there are definitely things I would have done differently if I were king), but there's only a handful of games I would want for it, and I don't want to buy another console. There's a few games I wouldn't mind playing on Xbox too, but I already have a couple dozen keeping me busy on the PS2, not to mention on my desktop.

Personally, I'd like to see more porting of console games to PC. They could wait until the game is old enough to be re-released as a "greatest hits" or something, so long as it winds up there eventually.

My list of completed Zelda games:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (GBA)

Me, my bro, and MY DAD!! (haha his name in the game was Conan ;D ) played it on the SNES until my brother fried the SNES during a lightning storm :shakehead That storm also took out our big TV and the biggest tree in the backyard.

I played Ocarina of Time and was planning on Majora's Mask, but I lost OOC and never played it again after that. I recently put some effort into playing it on my computer but it's so damn buggy.

My friend lent me WW for the GC and it's still sitting among my own pile of games. It's been there for months. He beat it so he doesn't care. I never completed it.

I picked up A Link to the Past for my GBA and beat it (AWESOME game) before I fried that. :wtf: I want to get a DS and here's to hoping the N64 Zelda games will be ported to it...

I never doubted WW because of the fact that it was cel shaded. In fact, I think the graphics was the biggest reason (besides gameplay, close second) I wanted to keep playing. I got stuck in a dungeon somewhere and gave up 'cause I'm that lazy.

This game looks awesome. I haven't bought a GC game in a long time (but I still play it every other day) but this and Super Mario 128 look pretty good so far.

Nintendo either has to do this right or they are screwed. They are still milking the original Nintendo ideas and come up with only mildly innovative but practically useless items (Like that stupid blow harmonica on the DS). They are either going to make or break their entire console company with the Revolution I think.

As for Zelda, I loved the first one, hated everyone since.
