Thanks man,
Gives me a chance to play with my wife's new digital camera too:woowoo: You can tell that the picture of the whole machine was taken with her old one.

Thanks for the Radeon pic. Gives me ideas. Ah, I'm getting into the modding mood!
Bottom line homeys,
(Leonardo in particular)
No outta the box solution is any match for the motivated enthusiast. I'm waiting for some company to market a card with no cooling at all because they finally figured out that no matter how hard they try, they cannot market a product with half as good a setup as we can do ourselves, no matter how cool it looks. I'd rather save my money. It's not just the size or ingenuity, by definition they cannot get the interface right in a mass produced world. Even if their solution were top notch, I'd still have to pull it off and reapply it because it would probably barely be touching the core, if at all. In the process I'd probably think of a way to improve it so why include cooling at all?

Ain't it the truth? It kills me to see all these outfits trying to outdo each other with cooling solutions when I have a pile of em sittin in my discard drawers somewhere. Save me the money and sell me a card with no cooling and I'll do it myself... like I always do anyway.

Nice job on the amd/ r9800pro mod. How far can you oc it? I was gonna do that to my 9700 non pro, i cut it to make it fit and all, but i eventually lost interest. I imagine it would do a kickass job at cooling.
@ wugaroo:
The springs are on the zip ties that hold the heatsink on. They help it to stay even.
@ Al_Capown:
I haven't actually pushed it yet, but it'll run 3DMark @ 450 so far.

Keeps the HS on the otherside of the board tight to the board.
