The *OFFICIAL* Race To 3 Million/Bayou Brawl Heavyweight Bout

edited November 2005 in Folding@Home
As many of you may know, csimon and I are engaged in a little contest on who can get to 3 million points first. Csimon has a huge head start and very strong production. I'm quite a ways behind but have more production. At our current rates of production csimon will beat me to 3 million. My strategy, of course, is to add enough production (legally) to overcome the points deficit in time to cross the 3 mil mark. Also, I'd have to add production to offset any production increases he may pull off in the meantime.

The wager has been placed and the contest set. It'll take over 200 hundred days to hash this one out and a lot can change in that time period. Prime, Jake, or the Handbrake could kick it in gear and pass both of us too.

Here's my battle plan:
At csimon's current rate of production (4800 ppd) he'll make 3 mil in about 229 days. For me to make it in 229 days I need to boost my production to over 8100 ppd immediately. Any delays in boosting production causes that 8100 ppd number to increase. The longer the delay the more it increases until it becomes unobtainable.

With that all said and done csimon has agreed to buy me crawfish (or something like that). It's a good positive contest that'll bring more computers to the fold. Besides, how often to do you get to see the heavyweights slug it out like this?

Isn't that why you guzzle the brewskies while you're chowing down on the crawfish?

I like mine well purged with plenty of cayenne pepper. Extra crab boil doesn't hurt either.

Where oh where to find more folding power...

I'm going to take a different approach. I'm going the analog route. I think I will do a heavy neighborhood recruiting drive :ninja:

I'm not counting you out by any means ...anything can happen at any point in the game.
What I am concerned about is having to provide crawfish for a certain aussie couple! :fold:

Tech Report would be his main hangout. He has been rebuilding ever since mother nature took off the gloves and hammered the bayou.

That would be correct, TR is where I be.

No matter how hard I try I can't fit a folding farm in this travel trailer. It's being sold off until I can get back in the house and start a newer, better farm. Hurricanes suck :(
