Video conferencing in corporate / international settings
Okie dokie, who here knows a bit about setting up video conferencing for a business environment? I'm potentially going to get a chance to set up a video conferencing network. Multiple locations within one state, another location appx. 1200 miles away in another state (one time zone away I think), then one last location offshore on some island well outside the USA, but only one or two time zones away.
One known configuration is where a lecturing location will be giving a presentation to one or more spectating locations. In otherwords, one or more spectators will be watching one location give a presentation. It may or may not be necessary for the spectators to see each other. It may or may not be necessary for the lecturing location to see the spectators. Audio communication between all locations will be necessary for obvious reasons.
Full audio / video communication with 3+ locations may be necessary as well. Sounds like there's 8 or so locations. It is unknown as of yet if there will ever be a need for a conference meeting of all of the locations, but I'd like to cover my bases.
Possibly looking at backup communication lines (e.g. if video connection goes out, they'll switch to one of those triangle conference speaker phones).
Looking for info for high end PC cameras, possibly wide angle, high quality mics to pick up anyone's comments when speaking at normal volumes, and also looking for the best recommendations for hooking this all up to a projector / TV if there is a better way than a standard video output (S-video).
Size of rooms sound like they're standard meeting rooms, guessing 14 x 20, 16 x 16 or so.
So, comments, suggestions?
