    Yes!

And I have no idea why either. I haven't installed anything recently.

I've had that problem before. I never was able to discover its cause. A repair XP installation fixed it.

A repair install of 2K fixed that problem for me the one time I had it.

Try deleting the Hidden WindowsUpdate Folder and everything in it. That will cause the Update site to re-download the Update software. I've seen the problem several times and This has fixed it a few times. Other than that... No idea.

I had the same problem - WU would look for all the updates except the "Windows" ones. My first reaction was that Windows was hosed.

Then I experimented with my security settings and fixed the problem. Make sure both SSL and the TLS are checked.

Hope it works for you, too.

Go to Microsofts support site, and download IE 6 SP1, tell it to reinstall all components, it will likely download some more, 200 to 500K or so.

This usually fixes that problem for me.

    Al,
I was speaking in a purely platonic cyberspace kind of sense....then there you go perverting it into something sexual.

And you wonder why your Windows Update stops working!?
