I've been running the beta version of the console for a couple of weeks, and that's the last thing I've changed since I started getting these lockups. Sometimes it's freezing on my screensaver, and just a couple of minutes ago it died while browsing the web.
I've gone back to graphical 3.24 to see if that clears it up.

Has anyone eles got stuff like that?

What command line parameters were you using and which rig was having trouble?

    -forceasm and -advmethods

The system was perfectly stable with 3.24 using the same switches.

Thats because if you look you are now useing SSE optimizations instead of only extra 3dnow! with v3.24. Some TBreds and bartons have problems with SSE optimizations causing the computer to lock up as said.

Try upping the vcore a notch.

I run my Barton 2500+ (2.4ghz) @ v1.85 on my water system. It folds 24/7 using the 3.25beta client with -forceasm -advmethods

Also you might try setting the console up as a service

I have never had any problems or seen any differences with the 3.25 client.

Knocking on wood, everything's fine again. Dumped 3.25 and back to 3.24.

Also dumped a 30% loss in frame times.

Crap, that much? Is it only on amd's that you get the extra boost? I do have a P4 2.4C right now that could use it.

The P4 already runs SSE ;) - AMD chips just fold that much better :D (well, when you get very high clocks it will go pretty nicely on P4s as well, hehe)

    DanG,

If you are running a 2.4C on an 875 or 865 chipset motherboard, you should be running two instances of Folding - that will be tremendous boost in production. Clarify - run two instances if you have hyperthreading enabled; otherwise, you essentially have 50% of your CPU's capacity at idle if only running one instance.
