Guild Wars Players List

I wanted to start a player list for Guild Wars so we can have some SM group action in the game. ;)

I just purchased this game today, but I am at work :(
Once I get Home I will setup an account and list my player name.

EDIT: Zan Thian is my Character, only level 4 so far, but just my first playing session.

    It's pretty cool so far. Definitely takes some getting used to if you've been playing WoW for the last two months. But I like it. :)

    My character is Kalli Desdemona... I'm a Necromancer... Up to level 4 in an hour or so... Time for bed now... Awesome game!!

    I just went Post-Searing. It looks like the game is going to be much better now. I was getting bored with the Pre-Searing stuff.

    Once you enter the academy, the bad guys outside (I forget their name) find a way to destroy the city. Apparently it's called the Searing or something. I hear everyone refer to it like that. So I assume that's how it goes.

    I'm thinking about getting this game after I finish loads of schoolwork, but I heard someone today compare it to Diablo [II]. It's not that mindless or pointless, is it?

    It's nothing like Diablo II, hopefully they'll have some sort of demo or trial period for folks uunsure of the game despite it's free per month gameplay.

    Nothing like Diablo. I disliked both those games. This one is rather enjoyable.

    I started a monk named Phoenix Manawaker. It took me about three hours to reach level three, but I spent most of my time exploring. Fun so far. It's even more fun, since I'm not thinking about how much money is going down the tubes, like I would be if it was pay for play...

    I'm still trying to decide if I like that fact that all of your characters have to join the same guild...

    The system has some major pros and cons...

    Sounds cool so far.

    Can you guys post some screenshots of your gameplay? I've seen the screenshots on their website, but of course, they've picked the most fantastic stuff in the game to put there.

    I'm pretty intersted, since there's no monthly fee. I wouldn't have a whole lot of time to play, but I wouldn't feel so bad about that, knowing that I wasn't blowing x$/month by not playing.

    Is there any aspects of Guild Wars that are similar to those in another MMORPG, just to kind of give me and idea what it's like? I've only played DaOC and SWG (and might again, if I didn't have to pay them montly).

    I definitely like how once you leave the town you have the entire world to yourself (or your party)... Saves you from having to deal with all the stupid people that play MMORPG for the most part...

    Yes, it certainly focuses more on you and your team, and makes you deal with stupid people only in town, where they are at least ignorable. For me it feels almost like the towns are like 'game setup' rooms, where people meet and trade items, and choose parties to go on adventures with, once they are out in the world, they are in a game just to themselves.

    The item and gold sharing system is nice as well. It is not based on whio kills what. Each item that is dropped by a monster goes to a random char in the party, and no one else is allowed to pick it up. If gold is dropped, then anyone can grab it, but it is automatically shared equally among the party members. If there is an odd coin left over after the split it goes to one of the characters who did not pick up the gold. Experience for every monster is shared among all of the party members evenly, no matter how much damage was delt. This makes it so that you really can just concentrate on being a healer/buffer if you want.

    I'll post some screen shots if I play tonight... I'm feeling pretty crappy right now, so I might just go to bed early... :P :(

    So is anyone else in S-M actually playing? I formed a Short-Media Guild and just bought a cape for the guild, but so far it's just us Nexlians... If I had known none of the S-M crowd would want to join in then I would have just made our guild Nexlia... C'mon, pony up and join us so Short Media can dominate...

    I've been incredibly busy, and most my free gaming time has been spent playing WoW. I haven't actually logged on to GW since posting my name. I'll log on as soon as I can.

    I'll probably be getting it soon, need a new video card, but this game is awfully prettiful so I guess it's worth it, I may or may not be starting the Ninja Pirate Assassins guild with my friends though, so not sure about the SM guild.

    Well, we started the SM guild, cause it seemed awfully silly to have a whole lot of smaller guilds made up of groups of friends, when we could all be in a bigger more useful guild together. The way guild wars is structured, it fine to have a small group that go adventuring together regularly, but that small (4 person max) group should not be your whole guild... Although, that's what most people seem to be doing...

    The Ninja Pirate Assassins can all join SM guild and make us a stronger whole. :)

    I agree... In order to do some of the tougher stuff that the game is designed to do (it is called Guild Wars after all) we need to have a big guild... We have a cape and everything... Once we actually get to that point we can get a Guild Hall as well if we're good enough...
