The baron, what was your say in this? I mean if you wanted to buy a card, what one would you buy and why? would you wait until aug, or get one now?

So for the gamer that doesn't overclock, I am guessing that people agree that the 6800 and 850 are the best????

I've been running my X850XT at stock clocks for quite a while, and I have been VERY pleased with it. It handles anything I throw at is. 1600x1200 is possible in just about any game, and it doesn't choke up when you start turning on anti aliasing, and Antistropic filtering.

The X800XL is also a fantastic card for the $$, not too far behind the X850s. The 6800 series cards are also fantastic. Any of the X8xx series, or 6800 series of cards would fit the bill nicely I would say. If you dont plan to upgrade for a while, X850XT, X800XL or the 6800GT/Ultra would be a great choice right now.

BTW, are you looking for an AGP card or PCI-Express?

I love my X800XL and agree w/ lemonlime on the X850XT recomendation. If my X800XL can run most games maxed out the 850 will be just fine. Far Cry and HL2 look great on this card and run excellent!

    PS:
The Platinum is no where near worth the extra bucks. :shakehead

first thanks for answering my original question lemon, BUt if you had to made 1 choice what card would it be, yes I would keep for at least over a year to 2 years, and I have an agp slot. One more question just to drive you guys crazy: Should I wait to get a new card, wait for a new card to come out and get the old one, or just go for it and buyone right now?
