Whats the best 19 inch LCD for the buck?
Hey guys. Im plannin on buying a 19inch LCD monitor, and Im wondering if any of you have any experience with any of these:
Dell 1905fp

BENQ FP931

Samsung SyncMaster 915N

They are all about the same price, and Ive heard good stuff about all. The 915N has an 8ms response time, which I would imagine would be great for gaming which is the primary function of my PC. But Ive seen great reviews for the Dell1905fp, and the BenQ FP931 also has a low response time(16ms) as well as being a few bucks cheaper. Do any of you have any experience with these and could you comment on it?

I only have two complaints:
1) The adjustment buttons on the front are black on black making it very inconvenient to adjust the monitor. (Cheap decals would have at least made them visible).
2) It's analog, not digital (minor point).
Overall, the 912n was a very good value. It's bright, doesn't flicker, good from odd angles. I still have yet to see more bang for the buck in a 19" LCD. It wasn't the best of the 19" monitors, but it was $200 less than the ones that were comparible. One thing I wouldn't do is buy that one from Dell at $523!!! You can get a 915 for under $350 if you find a deal. New Egg has them for $325:

And the higher end 19" Samsung is on special, It's got all the bells and whistles (but not much difference in picture). However that price makes me want to go with dual monitors!!

Monitors are one of those items you cant simply compare numbers on. I've seen some high end, expensive models that didn't look as well as a bargain brand. My (or anyone elses} likes and dislikes might not be in tune with your own. Go to the local retailer and compare them before buying. Shop in person, buy on line. If a retailer really wants your business he'll meet your price, otherwise.....
(I don't feel pity for retailers, who will take advantage of you without mercy whenever they can!)

If you're going to buy an LCD monitor, what do you look for in terms of contrast ratio and brightness level?
And does the analog LCD differ that much over digital? Specifically in terms of gaming.
ps stay away from that one at Dell, did you notice it was a refurbished one?
newegg is the only way to go...
