I own the others and never play them, might as well add this one to the collection. It will come down to if I can drag myself away from CS:S long enough.

This game is going to be UBER sweet. I can't wait for it. Plus, there are already a couple WW2 mods that are in development for it (and I love WW2) so it's all gravy. I don't know if I will get this however, because HL2 will probably take over my life once I finally get it.

    Warning: Shameless plug follows

If you're looking forward to Battlefield 2 why not head over to the XDC clan forums at www.xdcuk.co.uk, until recently we had a highly respected Battlefield vietnam server running that got a lot of praise as one of the best adminned servers around, and plans are already underway for a Battlefield 2 server to launch as soon as BF2 is available. We tend to have a good community vibe going on over there, so head over and say hi.

    is disappointed

Admittedly, I was never a huge fan of the original, or BFV. I mean, I had a lot of fun, for sure, but nothing spectacular. Well, now that the BF2 demo is out, I'm disappointed. It doesn't look nearly as good as the screenshots, and it uses too much power to look so bad...

It doesn't look nearly as good as the screenshots, and it uses too much power to look so bad. I had everything on Medium, 1152x864, no AA/AF at all, and it looked... ok. Nowhere near phenomenal. Granted, this IS a demo. But honestly, I don't see the point.

And maybe the one map we got just sucked, but I found the gameplay incredibly boring, too. Then again, I only tried Singleplayer. I'm not coordinated enough in games to do multiplayer online. With friends it's fun because you just dick around, no special plans or techniques. But online, people expect more of you ;D

It's even more of a pity that the engine can't do 1280x1024 (or any other non 4:3 resolution).

Its even more of a pity that I get billed 14$ a month by fileplanet and they dont even have the demo yet.

You have to edit some video files for that.

Just grab it off any old torrent site, FormFactor. Unless you have it already and are just upset about paying for nothing, then I can't help ;D

i think i might "buy" the game when it comes out or a few weeks after. It looks good to me, and BF1942 and the other Battlefield Desert something I played at Lansharx, and they were pretty fun. I didn't really know how to play, but I sorta got the hang of it.

Got the demo off bittorrent. Its pretty lame. I think they really skimped on the demo. The only vehicles are tanks and trucks. No aircraft at all. pfft

The map does seem a lot bigger than the small area they let you play in, but if you venture outside the set boundry it kills you.

I am sure the full version will be a lot better.

If you guys want to play with planes, find a server that has 32 or 64 players. Planes are enabled on that. The map size changes according to the number of players.
