every 10 min or so i get a pop up... for example one says:

Messege form SYSTEM to Alert on 6/24/2005 4:30:05

Stop! WINDOWS REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

Windows has found 47 CRITICAL SYSTEM ERRORS!

To fix the errors please do the following:
1. Download registry repair from www.fix-reg.com
2. Install Registry Repair
3. Run Registry Repair
4. Reboot your computer
FAILURE TO ACT NOW MAY LEAD TO DATA LOSS AND CORRUPTION.
Im worried that if i go to that site and download the thing it will be a virus. I ran Microsoft Antispyware Beta and it came up negative with any forms of spyware on the comp.
Any idea how i can stop these messages from coming is most appreciated.

Upgrade to SP2, which turns off the Messenger service by default. That should take care of your problems.

While waiting for WIndows to do all the updates (recently installed new mobo and hard drive so nothing was up-to-date) i came upon http://grc.com/stm/shootthemessenger.htm which also stops the messenger. Its pretty simple and im sure that service pack 2 might include this... But just an FYI for anyone who is having the problem and doesnt know what to do.

    Thanks for your help :D
