my main rig died early last week (tuesday)... and my other one has been disconnected from the internet because we are routing ethernet cords through the house and havent gotten to it yet. so i havent had anything since then, but im livin on ic12 right now and its still going strong.

i ordered a new mobo and cpu on thursday.. it should be here tomorrow or the next day. i cant wait :)

*edit*
i made the switch, btw. its been tempting me for a while so i figured why not. what i ordered was a p4 2.4 & it7max2 v2. i dont think i plan to overclock, but i think this motherboard is not too bad. opinions?

Make sure you run two instances of Folding. Intel Hyperthreading, for its wants but also benefits, is deadly with running two instances of Folding.

(Thrax is now going to tell you that you aren't a real Haxxor.)

:scratch: I want some of whatever you've been smoking!

Did you pick up a 2.4C (the 800 MHz FSB) CPU or a 2.4B? The IT7-MAX2 2.0 only supports the 533 MHz FSB CPU's, and as far as I know, the 2.4B does not have HyperThreading technology (AFAIK).

Either way, you'll enjoy it. :)

Hey, let's not rain on Film's parade before we can even hear the marching band! :eek2:

We'll work with him and help him extract whatever Folding power his new system may have lurking under the surface.

guys guys, you got the wrong idea for my new comp. i did not get the 800fsb one and a supporting motherboard simply because im used to amd, and that would be way too much money. i also am not going for the best of the best, i just need to built a fairly affordable new main machine. :)

No one has ever gone into the Dark Caves of Intel Santa Clara and come out a h4xx0r.

    Let's see -- KT7-R, KT7A-R, ECS K75SA, KR7A-R, KX333-R, TB 900, TB 1200, TB 1400, Paly 1900+, 2 X 2000+, Baron 2800+. Wow, there's hope for me too! I guess I can be a huckster (h4shtr? h4ckst3r?) whatever again!

    A Abit NF7-S & Barton 2500+ would've been $205 shipped from Newegg.

It's Cheaper & faster at stock settings (11x 166mhz) and it you can OC the mobo alone (10x 183mhz, or 9x 200mhz) and make it even faster.

you missed the whole idea of WANTING to try intel. by 'too much money' im comparing it to amd (what im used to spending).

well im on the new comp and its great. while tweaking the bios i upped the fsb to 145 for ****s and giggles *note im using stock heatsink, stock thermal pad, stock voltage, etc* and it is working great at 2600mhz. i will probally play with it more, but i want a new heatsink first probally. anyways i setup folding and its goin at it so i cant wait for production results! :)
