Could all the SMx hosts give their best estimate of when the first WU turned in by their unit was? At least the month and year please. Thanks!

Can I suggest changing the title to "SMX HOSTS Please read".

As the title is a little non sequitur from the content.

i can only estimate by taking total wu and divide by weekly production for SM9 and works out to about 7 months ago. So I'd say February of 2003.

Oh, and while I have hosts checking in, please look at this page and make sure the specs are right. If you have additions or changes, PLEASE list them in here. I'm up to 15 right now, hopefully will get it done later tonight.

    Thanks sev.

I have one change for IC13, the nic that was supposed to come from Mortin never came, when I originally got IC13 there was no nic, so I put in a spare I had laying around, nothing major though.

As far as the first wu, I'd say probably about April or may, don't know for sure.

TD: Are all those parts from you? And are any of those officially donated to the project, or just what's being used?

Clutch: same question, did you officially donate the NIC?

Sorry to be hung up on technicalities like that; we're working on some details for the project right now.

    Thanks for the date, Clutch.

    Keebs:

SM18's PSU came from myself (sorry TD ;)). Also, the HDD is 1.35 GBs.

SM18 finished it's first WU on 8-14-2003... sometime around 2:30PM if memory serves.

EDIT: Also, the DIMM size is 256 MBs, not 128.

Mortin supplied the nic's after I got IC13, in need of a nic before it could join my network I supplied one of my spares, the nic mortin supplied was supposed to come in the mail, but it didn't. Not like I'm in need of the nic anyway, I mean I have another spare.

For IC14, the FAH folder on it's HDD was created on March 16, 2003. Give a day for the first WU to complete, and I'd say that it's first WU was turned in sometime on 3/17/2003. I think that was St. Patrick's Day. Blimey!

Just out of curiosity, how come when ICx became SMx project, the ICx boxes were continued to be called "Icrontic #" I'm not saying you should change them or something, I was just curious where the decision came on that, just cause it was easier to leave them the same? Sorry to bust in on this thread, but I figured this would be a question the people viewing this thread would know :)

There is no reason to create more inactive members on the stats page and their points would start all over at 0 as well.

The PSU for SM4 was donated by Ageek.

Sev it had to be more than 7 months ago. No way we did 10 machines in 7 months. 9, 10, and 11 should all be around the same time. They were all announced at once. Some took a lil longer to get up tho.

Well, we originally were referring to it as the ICx/SMx project, then switched to straight up SMx 'cause it was time. We don't want to deprive the original rigs of all their hard-earned points, we don't need more dead folders listed on the team, and there's really no reason to.

We'll refer to them as SM1, etc. but just leave the folding name the same so they are "SM1 folding as Icrontic1," etc. :) A decent compromise to a tricky situation.

you're probably right, let's see when SM8 and SM10 were put up and stick SM9 between them. Knowing when SM8/10 went up might jog my memory a little more.

Checking back thru the threads I see that we already had IC16-UK when Icrontic went down and SM15_Folding_Frog's first wu was on 6-15-2003 and SM17's first wu is on 7-14-2003.

If I can take a look at the SMx fund spreadsheet I can hazard a guess as to when Trish turned in her first WU.

IC1... Err, I mean SM1 folding as IC1. :D Oh jeez, first WU, that goes way back.
Does anyone remember? I will try to find out, but it might take me awhile.

Okay SM9 got up and running October 23, 2002 and probably finished the wu on the 24th. The miscalculation was from the fact that I didn't use -advmethods and -forceasm for a few months. But I found the forensic evidence in a few frames of the SM9 video :D

IC11 was up and running October 10th 2002, so I'm guessing a day or so later would be its first WU.

By the way, the little bugger is running stably at 61 degrees C! Wish mine was stable that hot.

BTW keebs, you have all the specs wrong on SM14; you copied everything that SM13 has in it. This is on your page you've been working on:hrm: Go to the temp page you have at Team Short-Media to see the correct specs for SM14.:p

Also... I changed the HSF in IC5 because it was so incredibly loud that it sounded like my living room was taking off. It is now a Cooler Master DP5-6131D-01 (As Newegg lists it). As well, the PSU is the one that was in the case hotrodsun sent me. I never received another PSU.

 It was a late night... :p

Important: As people say they've added pieces of their own, I need to know whether those pieces officially are now a part of the SMx Project property, or you are just "loaning" them for convenience's sake.

    Thanks for all the updates!

In addition to the other reasons given, I'll add one more.
Originally the "new" Icrontic was encouraging their members to join our team. The decision by S-M to leave the old names intact was in part due to a desire to keep touch with the roots of our team as it became Team Short-Media. Now that Icrontic has formed their own team, it could be confusing to new members to see posts mentioning ICx rigs. The change in the way we refer to them makes it clear that they are Folding for our team.

And I wish both teams success!:fold:

Ok so IC8 should look something like this

    Mobo donatations
    Cpu correct
    Heatsink correct
    Video card correct
Nic Correct but one built one board, so I have the kingston laying here
The hardrive worked from day one so it has never been replaced
I bought the case and power supply.
The ram I have in there now is a 256mb stick of PC-2700 kingston
I did trade the 1.2gig athlon for an XP1700.
I can't remember If I had the case fans of if leo did send them to me.

I'll get back to you guys on when IC8 turned in its first WU. Sorry for the sloppy post I am in a hurry. I can make correction/clairifications later. Talk to you guys later, Adam
