Best Driver version for a GF3 Ti500?

I'm currently using Det v44.03 and I'm getting random lockups when playing DVD files. WM9 plays DVDs just fine but WinDVD and PowerDVD crash the system.

Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Norton AV is up to date. (I'M NOT Reinstalling - Thrax & Geeky1 :) )

    44.03's shouldn't be bad :)

Have you looked at the latest FX detonator driver series? (What OS.. if its XP.. run a system restore point first.. so you have an easy rollback).

If that doesn't work, list the other specs :)

Have reinstalled the two DVD playing software? Just curious, did they work BEFORE you updated to WMP9???

I take it that different det's did didly squat then?

Actually I believe they did, but it was a while ago so I'm 100% sure.

Swapped in a GF2 (same drivers) and then a Radeon 9100 and all is golden

Turns out that the GF3 is flaky.

For me 30.82 is the highest that I can go on my GF3 Ti500
If I go into the 4x dets I get problems in various games and things... I have tried many different ones and its always the same the 30.82's are as high as I can go and not have problems.

Little OT, but how the HELL can anyone go 4 months without a reinstall? I manage like... oh, about two. Max. Generally, it's more like two weeks to a month (and since I usually can't be bothered to activate windows, I generally do it once a month anyhow...)

I've had XP installed for over a year now on my main rig and no probs... :)

If you don't install/uninstall /test a lot of software, you can go for quite some time.

That having been said, I going to have to reinstall XP on my main machine later today :D
