Backup Software

Please recommend a good system backup/imaging software. Freeware would be excellent, if a quality one is available. I've been using Symantec Ghost for years and am happy with it. It does everything I need it to. Why freeware? For other computers in the family and friends' machines. Sure, I could install Ghost on as many computers as I like, but I want to go legal on this.

We've numerous threads here at Short-Media concerning backup software, but I'm looking for more updated information.

Also, if it comes down to it, what are recommended retail software suites? Previously highly recommended by Short-Media members was Acronis. Is it still top of the heap? What about Backup My PC?

I don't need too many options. Backups for me are almost always very simple - backup from an internal drive(s) to a large capacity external drive. What I want:

full disk backup and restore capability
partial disk/partition backup and restore capability
(incremental backup capability is not necessary, neither is spanning accross a network)

    Acronis True Image 9.0 - $49.99

Thats quite expensive for multiple PCs considering Leo did mention he would prefer freeware.
