I was just checking in on SM20 and she has been running with out a reboot for 76 days 3 hours, 48 minutes, and 39 seconds...

I think that is the longest of all my rigs...

lol i think the most for me is about 2 weeks and i thought that was long.

my power goes out too much for that to be a realistic challenge.

WOW, thats awsome, you should do a systeminfo in your command prompt, if you're using windows, and see what it is exaclty...

    Still really cool stuff,

One YEAR! You don't even clean the heatsinks and fans? Oh boy, we're heading for a catastrophe here!

Keto and gtghm, you both do us proud.

We have 3 particular pc's that have been going 24/7 for over 3 years now, only time they reboot is if a microsoft update requires it.

    xp pro

    Later

Hmm, that doesn't really work. Microsoft update ALWAYS requires you to restart after installing one of the patches and considering they bring them out almost weekly, it would be impossible to have a 3 year uptime AND restart if/when MS Update requires it.

That is not exactly true lots of their patches do not require restarts, and in saying that i have had corp pc's folding for well over 3 years now. 3 that i know of have only been restarted a hand full of times or so in 3 years.

What you believe is your privilidge.:) i am only stating our experiences. XP is one solid "in the stable sense O'S.":)

    Later

Plus i did not say 3 years without a restart.

Late but Il explain... (this only works on XP or 2003)...

Start Menu -> Run -> cmd -> [Enter]

This will open a command prompt. Type "systeminfo" (without the quotes) and hit enter. The system will return lots of useful information ;)

    Eg.. mine looks like this..
    C:\>systeminfo

Your right PW - systeminfo wasn't working for me on HE. So, like most things, I guessed it only worked on XP Pro. :D
