Flash a blank BIOS for this motherboard?

I was given a Biostar M7VKG Version 2.0 motherboard. I was going to use it to build another computer system. But it doesn't have a BIOS chip in it. The electronics genius who had it before me took it out and then lost it.

So I called Biostar and then sent them a $15 money order for a new BIOS chip. Yesterday I got my money order back. They said they no longer stock that BIOS chip.

So what can I do to make this motherboard work? Put in a blank Award or Phoenix BIOS chip and try to flash it somehow? Never did that before. One computer guy told me that won't work, the motherboard won't even turn on without a good BIOS chip in it.

Or does anyone know anyone who can flash a BIOS chip and send it to me?

According to the instruction sheet I got with the motherboard, the BIOS chip specs are Phoenix legal, supports APM 1.2, and supports ACPI.

Yes, since the board was free I could just frisbee it out the window, but I already have 1 GB of PC133 SDRAM that will work in this board.

    (1) Get a bios chip
    (2) Won't work
    (3) He is right

I think there is someone in the Deal Depot & Trading Post that does that stuff.

He will need to know the exact motherboard model and version number as well as a link to the bios flash for that board.

Also is it a AMD or Intel system?

Tim, Mr. Tmod is being very tongue in cheek, and very modest. He is a master of BIOS chip flashing. He is one of the very, very few people Short-Media has allowed to promote his commercial venture in the forums. Hook up with him and he'll see you through for a very reasonable fee, for a very quality service.

    Okay.

    It's an AMD Socket A (462) motherboard.

I'll have to search for a BIOS flash program for it.

    What will it cost?

I found the paper I originally wrote the information on when I talked to Biostar, they said it was a Phoenix 256 KB, and it's a DIP style 32 pin chip.
