//EDIT: Withdrawn from sale.

Here are the specs:

eMachines M6811 Notebook
(Don't let the brand fool you, this is a great machine!)
CPU: Athlon 64-mobile 3400+, 2.2GHz, 1MB L2 cache
RAM: 512MB PC2700 DDR
Video: Radeon Mobility 9600, 64MB dedicated VRAM
HDD: 80GB, 4200 RPM
Screen: 15.4" TFT WXGA
Optical: DVD+-RW Drive
I/O: 4xUSB2.0, 1xIEEE1394 Firewire, 1xPCMCIA slot, multi-card reader (for camera flash cards, several different types), 1xVGA-out
Networking: 802.11g, 10/100NIC, 56K modem
OS: Windows XP Home

I bought this PC in June or July of 2004. Due to a manufacturer defect on the hinge, it has been sent to eMachines recently for warranty work, and the entire screen was replaced along with the newly designed hinge - it should not crack again.

I bought it from Best Buy. I also got the 3-year Performance Service Plan. Gnomewizzzarrdddd, who worked at Best Buy, informed me that this is a transferrable plan, so I am including it with the sale of the notebook. It is good for at least a year and a half still. If there are 3 issues requiring repair, Best Buy will replace the PC (that's why I bought the plan).

Thanks, I've been looking for something like that. Would you say, then, that the service plan isn't worth anything?

The laptop is selling for $1040 new on Tigerdirect.com. I am still interested in the laptop. I dont have quite enough money for it yet but in a couple paychecks i should have enough(have to do some Christmas shopping). Think you can set a definite price?

If anybody would like some more information on this laptop, then here are some more specific details and some images.

Rivers - since I had my PC go quite haywire on me recently, I might possibly be keeping the notebook. I'll let you know, though.

PM me if you're still interested after Xmas, I should have my PC situation sorted by then...

Is the laptop still for sale. If yes, fine, the thread stands. If it is not for sale, I need to edit the thread. Please respond. Thank you.

Hey Leo, sorry it took so long to reply, I was out of town at my grandfather's funeral over the weekend.

Yes, the notebook is still for sale. Thanks!

I am going to have to withdraw this notebook from sale. Unfortunately, I woke up this morning to find it sitting at a black screen with the words "Operating System Not Found" and it can't detect the HDD any more. At least I still have the service plan which covers it for another year and a half, but sheesh! Isn't my PC luck going to turn to the positive ever? I now have 0 working PCs of my own...

Since all these troubles seem to have come on you after you moved, I think having an electrician check out your main panel might be a good idea.

I'm glad to hear that the laptop is still under warranty, though. Hang in there, my friend.

The main panel was replaced by an electrician after we bought the house! It's just this one outlet, though, so I'm replacing the outlet today, and I'm going to swap out the UPS too.
