Microsoft Tests the Water in Japan

Reuters reports that Microsoft will release the Xbox 360 gaming console in Japan on Saturday, in a direct assault on Sony at home.
Xbox 360 will the first next-generation game machine to enter the market, putting the world's biggest software maker at an advantage versus competitors Sony and Nintendo Co. Ltd, which plan to launch their latest consoles next year.

But some have tempered expectations for Microsoft's Japan launch even though the console quickly sold out in North America and Europe. It remains in short supply in those markets.

"Pre-orders on the Internet look solid, but I don't think the retail stores will sell out of Xbox 360s in the first day," said Takeshi Tajima, an analyst at BNP Paribas in Tokyo.

I hope it's a big success. Sony needs competition. Granted, they make good products, but their prices are rediculous.

Qeldroma is right. I think all console from Sony and Microsoft should Fold for Team 93. :) Heck, we could even let Nintendo Fold too.

thats actually a good idea... make a video game that folds in the back, but the game has almost no overhead but is extremely addictive aqnd competitive with ranking on the net. Its a really good idea.

no not nesesarilly that im a fanboy for sony, which i am. I just dont like microsoft. and i wouldnt use their os if it wasnt necesary to play games and use photoshop and the likes. I could care less which console wins, as long as its good, and better than the others. im not buying one untill a few reviews are out and some good games come out to show what they are really like.

I just think that it wouldnt hurt microsoft to much to loose some money for once. oh yeh. that would be awesome to have a fulltime folder running. and take up virtually no space. the floating-points on those things are really high. from what i saw, twice the speed and performance as an Xbox 360.

It's not necesary you can play all your faverate games in liunx under cedega (just with half the framerate you had in windows and with some stuff misrendering) photoshop will work fine under wine and cedega however switching to the gimp and downloading the gimpshop plugin would be a better solution.

You're not gonna freakin believe it... I just won an XBOX 360 at my company party. Funny story. I'll tell you it after finals are done. Just thought I'd post the irony.
