Ipod in hard drive mode a good idea?

edited January 2006 in Hardware
I was just wondering if it is a good idea to put ur ipod in hard drive mode. I know you can add data files and .txt and view them on ur ipod in HD mode. But can u still add songs and videos and play them on ur ipod? and if u can....isn't HD mode better than the normal mode, since u can also add other stuff to it. and do u still add files through itunes?

thx

Nothing wrong with HD mode. The iPod will adjust the free space as you add songs. Go for it!

I think you have to factory reset in order to go back to normal. However, I think the benefits of disk mode outweigh normal mode.
