I have an older computer that I want to upgrade a little and use . It has a Abit KX7-333R motherboard with an AMD Athlon 2100+ CPU and 3 256MB sticks of cheap generic memory. I want to get better memory for it without spending a fortune. I love the Patriot dual channel XBLK that I am running in my main computer but I do not want to spend that much on this older computer. What I really want is good stable memory. I was thinking of these 2

I am open to suggestions on something different, like OCZ or another good brand. Thank you for any input or suggestions from you.

Go for the Patriot, A little cheaper and more *~bling~* for the buck.

I've used the 512 MB kits (2 x 256) of the Corsair 3200 and it's been decent ram, but like madmat said, the Patriot has some nice looking heatspreaders on them (not that value ram really needs them, besides for looks).

For value RAM, I'd also recommend Gigaram and Geil. Rock solid and moderately overclockable - both brands, in my experience. Of course compare prices. If close in price, I'd definitely go with Patriot or Corsair.

Good motherboard! Decent overclocker and very smooth.
