edited January 2006 in Science & Tech
Can anyone tell me what the latest update version is for the following audio driver :

Driver : SiS 7012 Audio Driver
Driver Type : Sound , Video and Game Controllers
Driver Version : 5.10.00.6031
Driver Date : 11/26/2001
Manufacturer : Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. ( 1.03.04 )
Provider Name : Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. ( 1.03.04 )
Num files : 3
Files : 1) sis7012.sys 2) a3d.dll 3) 0em1.inf

I did a driver update check and it indicates there is an update out for this driver but there are so many similar ones I am not sure which is which . Thanks for the help.

Yes, I went to the SiS website, looked for the driver, and found the latest version.

Loaded latest version driver and verified it but DRIVER DETECTIVE still shows it as a bad driver that needs update

    Does the sound work?

EDIT: I just ran Driver Detective and it told me that 64% of my drivers were no good. Take DD's advice with a grain of salt. ;)

Honestly, unless you are having trouble of any kind there's no need to update drivers. The exception would be if a new driver offers increased functionality.

    If it ain't broke... :D
