sata drives

have silicon image raid controller with two striped drives,will store to ide drives no problem,but falls over at 252meg on my sata drives which are 400gig.
XP see's the drives okay,raid recognised but everytime falls over at 252meg,trying to store video.:confused:
anybody any ideas.
much appreciate any help.

p.s.controller is sii3114.

    I assume you meant fails at 252MB. Do you mean that copying data from SATA RAID array to IDE drive storage fails when it reaches a volume of 252MB? Is it that way every time? To me, it sounds like a drive(s) overheating.

    If I'm on the wrong track here, do a search here at the forums on "3114" or Silicon Image. We have a couple of long threads on issues with that RAID controller.

    many thanks for your thoughts,it turned out it was due to the drive being set to a SIMPLE drive rather than a ACTIVE drive.This solved the problem.
