Hosting for Website

I know many of you are web pros, but I would like to know what things I need to consider for the enthusiastic n00b. Basically, I've got HS/College kids interested in running a website with a forum, art/photo and PC pages etc. and would just like to get their hands dirty running one.

What should I consider?

Geographical location important? VOIP (for support purposes)?
I think a crowd of about 20-100 would be visitors. Private forums would also be used.
Am I crazy to be looking at a place Like This for a hosting company? Is there one someone recommends?
Here are more

Webspace? Bandwidth? I beseech whatever wisdom you might afford.

Thanks

Qel

I've seen their 25-page ads in my computer magazines and always wondered if it's really that cheap.
