Who Wants To Host SM35?
:celebrate SM35 Is Ready To Roll!!! :celebrate
:smokin:

We keep getting great Host candidates for each rig, so for those who may have missed out before here's another chance to join our proud group of SMx Hosts. We've been rolling out the rigs fairly regularly lately, so get in on this one before our recent computers have too much of a head start on you. We'd like to see some stiff competition among Team 93's awesome lineup.

This is also a good time to say thanks to the many people whose generous donations have made this project a tremendous success. We can only be as good as the parts we get and thus far the response from The Team has been unbelieveable. :D
:smokin:

If you meet the qualifications for hosting one of our SMx machines, why not sign up to be a candidate? You could be the one chosen to house this Folding rig in your home, not to mention having that extra Folding sig to show off your status as one of Team 93's elite group of SMx Hosts.

The Hosting Requirements and Selection Process are available on the team page. Please look them over carefully before signing up.

If you feel you meet the requirements and are willing to sign the contract, announce your candidacy by posting in this thread and giving us some details about your hosting conditions (connection, environment, etc.) and your computer ability that would mark you as a suitable host for our latest SMx Folding machine.
:smokin:

Here's what Team 93 has assembled for our latest SMx machine:
SM35 Specs:

Motherboard: MSI KT3 Ultra2
CPU: Athlon XP 1900+
Hard Drive: WDC WD43AA 4.3GB
Display Adapter: ATi 3D RAGE PRO
Memory: 512MB Kingston PC2700 RAM
NIC: Linksys LNE100TX
Case: A brand new Case & PSU will be shipped directly to the Host.

:smokin:

If you happened upon this thread by accident and wonder what it is exactly that Folding hopes to accomplish, check out Join Folding for a quick summary of the F@H Project. Like many of us here, you could put your spare computer cycles to work for the betterment of mankind. Won't you consider joining us?
:smokin:

Sign up soon. We will give you plenty of notice before the signup period is closed and the SMx Committee vote is taken.

As per our policy, there are no geographical limitations on hosting eligibilty.
:smokin:

Check out The SMx Project - Reloaded! thread for more information on the project in general. If you have any parts you could spare for future SMx rigs, go here and have a look at what we need. Memory (PC1600 or greater) and Motherboards are in extremely short supply. To keep this project going we need your help.

Good luck, everybody! :thumbsup::fold:

    Can I be greedy?
There is no rule against hosting two (or more) rigs. While we prefer to share the fun all around, with nearly three-dozen computers already out there we realize that sooner or later it's going to become hard to find new qualified people.

Given the choice between allowing Hosts to care for multiple computers or closing down the SMx Project altogether...

...well, you know what we'd pick. :D

There are no rules against an individual hosting more than one SMx computer.

Yeah there is.... I cannot host more than one, but that's because I'm on the Committee... :vimp:

Other than that, You're more than welcome to throw your name into the hat!!!

Well knowing that a few dozen other guys would get it before I would… I’m going to be content with SMx33 and get a little more settled in before I try to stir that pot up :) But I know for a fact there is one or 2 guys that have applied and are not going for 35? Maybe they are hoping for another SMx34 rated system "That was one sweet folding machine"

Maybe we can rename her and make it an extension of SMx33 :) "just an idea"

Who else is in? Surely there must be more people out there willing to Host a rig Folding in excess of 900 Points Per Week.

Yes, I thought about it. I just feel there are many far more deserving people than myself. I have only been here for a year or two, but I'm not going anywhere. There will be more rigs, and I will be just as honored to host one of them as I would be this one. Actually I am surprised there are so few names in the hat.

Okay. I have changed my mind. I would like to throw my name in the hat.

My name is Kevin and I am a computer guy. Have been since my Commodore 64 my first computer. I'm 24 and have a secure job, and a nice home complete with high speed internet and I have my own web design and hosting business. I have never met a computer problem I was not able to over come. I feel I would make an excellent host for SM35 and have always wanted the honor. I just did not want to step on any toes of my fellow folders. Especially Sledge cuz he is a rockin awesome guy.:respect:

Well that is my submission. Good luck to everyone, and thanks for your consideration.
