those scores are fairly low for a 2.8 prescott setup, i get higher 3dmark scores with a 2.8c and a 9700pro than their 9800XT setup

yea, the prescott currently scores lower than a p4 @ the same clock :D

Heh. So, in other words, you're saying that Intel is regressing?

hmm...actually I have that backwards...never post when you're tired. The prescott does score better than the p4 at the same clock, but that puts intel in a pickle...to have a p4 that's "faster" than their latest, but still have the prescott work better. They've been touting "faster is better" for too long :D

It still says prescott, http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.html?i=1890&p=4 and then just select where it says "2.8GHz Intel Processor" and keep going after it, right after the word processor it will say "Presocott"

Wouldn't be the first time ;). The Taulatin owned the first P4s. And the Centrino still owns the low-end P4s. Heh.

True... I've got a print server with a 1.3GHz celeron (which at some point will become dual P3-S 1.4s... it's got a dual P3 board) in it because the Tualatin P3s are the only (relatively) fast, cool-running CPUs around (I sleep in the same room as all 4 of my computers, and I leave the print server on more-or-less all of the time, so it has to be basically totally silent, and I can't go with w/c until I go to college...)

    Still there.

The question is why is the word "Prescott" hidden?.........
