[00:06:01] - Error: Attempt #100 to get work failed, and no other work to do.

I am seeing this in one of my files.... wtf? I noticed it just now that my computer was running at like 14% while running a DVD test. hmf, attempt # 100 and working on 101! This of course a double waste as my dual core is doing nothing right now.

Stanford has a couple of servers down right now. One of my machines has had a WU stuck in the queue since early this evening. Can't get new work, either... :bawling:

The computer I mentioned before managed to send its WU an hour or two after I posted last night. I woke up this morning to find that four others are waiting to send a finished WU and get a new one... :(

Now I'm up to five idle machines. This server appears to be the culprit: 171.64.122.112

According to Stanford they now have it back in full operation. I'm hoping to see things moving soon.

Nothing on my end, either. If things don't change I'll have seven idle machines within a few hours...

If your client has completed a unit and is doing nothing:

    close the client
    start
    close
    start

This has usually worked for me before. You won't lose your work unit data.

That's good advice, and I did try it (more times than I could count). In this case it was the "deadlineless WU" server taking an unauthorized coffee break. Once it came back on line all of my machines were going again.

This thread makes me kind of wish I hadn't deleted all my work data and started over. Live and learn I guess.
