Ok the two systems getting the most interest are the two AMD systems.

How about $650 plus all shipping costs for the dual opteron. Its a msi k8d with dual 246 optys complete with fans etc and two gbs of pc3200 reg ecc memory. This is a server board not a workstation. Two gigabit nics and onboard vga. The bare motherboard with no cpu's or ram was like $400 on price watch. It's a msi k8d master. the big one with 3 pci-x slots and two pci slots etc..

Here is a link to the bare motherboard on ebay for $270 plus shipping.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/MSI-K8D-Master-FS_W0QQitemZ6818278480QQcategoryZ44941QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The amd 64 is in a msi neo s754 setup. With a 3200+ cpu and a GB of geil value ram with blue heat spreaders. Includes a $45 round Zalmon all copper cooler. Looks cool and is very quiet. The ram cost over $80 alone. How about $250 plus shipping? Thats $120 bucks for the MB and CPU.

Need cash by friday via paypal if possible.

Prime bought the exact same dual opty MB from me with a pair of 240 opterons so you can contact him and see how happy he was. I think I could get more selling them on ebay but hey .... It's for folding right. Several folders have bought setups from me.

Let me know. first one to commit HERE not in a PM or email gets the system so no one can whine about who was first. I can take pics later this afternoon if you want them.

Open to offers but it has to be cash via paypal by friday afternoon not trades.

lol nm i missed the part where you siad Onboard!

yeah the workstation is the master2far or something and only has regular pci slots. I'm into servers with pci-x slots. It has BOTH pci and pci-x and the pci-x take regular pci cards if they are slotted right to run on 3 volts.

But for a folder the onboard vga will work fine.

And to be honest if you don't game on it.... I can't tell the differance watching my porn movies on it versus my nice ATI x600 pci-e video card. Gaming would make a differance but not in normal usage.

Sadly the $650 is a bit out of my price range at the moment. Good luck on selling it though. If you can't sell it quick willing to lower the price some more our little LAN group is trying to pool our money for this thing. We would use it as a powerhouse server for LANs we hold twice a month and fold 24/7 the rest of the time. Awesome equipment and good luck in selling it.

I'm confused, why is this in the folding forum and not the Trading forum?
  • TexTex Dallas/Ft. Worth
    edited March 2006
Because its only for folders. This is where I have sold several dualies before.

    It's not an "open" sale.

    Very appropriate question.

We allow members to post for-sale or want-to-buy in subforums other than the Trading Post when:

    the seller doesn't have prices
    seller is "testing the waters"
    or item is not computer-related

Don't know what to tell ya. I think its a via chipset. agp slot. It was my personal box till I upgraded to my DFI ultra s939 setup. It was rock solid and ran 24/7 for months. I mean I rebooted every few months ! Its got sata and ide. onboard nic and sound etc... Its a pretty red MB and the ddr is in blue heat spreaders and the Zalman cooler is the huge round all copper one. The Zalman is super quiet ! It would look great in a case with a big side window! I had it in a clear acrylic case.

I mean s754 isnt state of the art now but this cpu/mb is plenty fast for any normal user and will be fast enough for any normal user for YEARS.

    Think this was the board

    http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=K8T_Neo-FSR

Its a GB (2x512mb) of Geil pc3200 DDR.

Not interested this time, but I can bump this for a great seller. I bought almost the exact same setup from tex a while back for a dev server to mirror the SM environment, and it was a fantastic deal. Well packaged and very quick shipping. Tex is a great guy to buy from! :)

I would rock the dual opterons in a heartbeat, but I think if I dropped that much on another system, I'd be looking for a new girlfriend.

I can vouch for Tex being an awesome seller though.

Did I miss the price on the xeon system?

No, you did not, It did not get mentioned, except it having a rather expensive scsi raid controller in it.
  • TexTex Dallas/Ft. Worth
    edited March 2006
No one asked about the xeon really and thats the one I was wanting to keep if possible. I had several PM's about the dual opteron so I just posted prices for it and the amd 64.

I am open to offers guys but nothing ridiculous please. They gotta be close!

I've (hopefully this time :nudge:) sent Tex money for the Opteron system. AuthorityAction and I put in for it to use at LANs (and fold, of course!) :) I'm excited to see it in the flesh (eh, Silicon). First dual system, first Opteron, and first 64-bit. I feel a little out-dated. :ninja:
