My girlfriend is a wonderfully smart, beautiful girl, but her achiles heel is computers...

Her lappy was LOADED with spyware, adware, popupware, pain-in-the-a$$ware... well you get my point.

Well, SuperRADA came in to save the day (key the hero-theme music), and succeeded in removing all the garbage, but found out that there had been an attempt to install SP2 that had failed. Now I can't load any updates..

Anyone know where I can find a solid set of instructions for backing out a failed SP2 (for XP HE)install?

Thanks,:thumbsup:

    A WinXP repair installation might kill the SP2 remnants for you.

    That's what I was going to say. Do the repair install - problem solved.

    Get to the windows recovery console from a bootable XP disc:

    At the command prompt in Recovery Console, type the following lines. Press ENTER after each line.

    * cd $NtServicePackUninstall$Spuninst
    * batch spuninst.txt
    * exit
