    BEFSR41 wired?
    WRT54G wireless?

If you've removed the wired from the equation and the problems still persist, switch the routers and plug your system directly into the BEFSR41.

(If this has also been addressed then I guess I'll just have to go back and read the whole thread to come up to speed. :D)

I have two other clients (One wireless and one wired) connected with no issues at all. They're as happy as clams.

I can also log into the router, yes.

Router logs are disabled, but they're also linksys logs which simply shows incoming/outgoing IPs as opposed to any real information. I hate that.

Try using another network card for the bad machine. That may be causing some trouble there. I dunno why the router can't ping google :( FUBAR routing table maybe?

Maybe you have that new virus which mangles your DNS server addresses, hosts file and some other things on that specific machine........

    Just try a general scan.

Spyware wouldn't be out of the question either.

Since this is such a booty-whack bizarre problem, try looking for bizarre things:

Just on a whim, try searching the registry and within text files on your HD for the word "google". It could be something like what templar said, or maybe a browser hijack or spyware attempt gone bad.

I've removed any and all traces of spyware with both Adaware and Spybot S&D. I've also virus scanned with Norton 2k3 (Newest defs), PC-Cillin (Newest defs), and McAfee (Newest defs).

    No go.

I've also plowed through the registry last night, nothing out of the ordinary there either.

This is the thing that drives me nuts: I am about 95% certain that if you were to format/reinstall, it would fix the problem. Therefore, I believe it's something that can be fixed.

    I hate computers.

In case you haven't tried, Thrax, unbind all of the protocols and settings from the network adapter and then delete the adapter from device manager. That is probably your last hope without reinstalling XP. Reboot, then add in all of the bindings and settings.

If you end up figuring this mess out be sure to tell us how!!!

Someone needs to break out a 3rd party firmware that gives us a bit more power with these things. Or even just a simple program on the PC. Combined with some handy network monitoring software, nothing can stop the l33t home network adm1n. :rolleyes2

My DSL went down.. I was unable to hop, ping or anything out past 2 hops, I reloaded XP and everything worked fine...

You may have to do a clean install....
