Guys I still need help installing Linux on my iPod Nano (2GB). I installed it twice only to find out once that it didn't boot at all, and the second time, it worked, but it wouldn't play music or videos. Please help. Thanks...

    Try:
    1) Posting in the right section.
    2) Not bumping your post 1.5 hours after you post. Bumping won't make people respond faster, and if anything, they may just ignore you.

Let's start with some basic information. What, exactly, do you want to do? What have you already done? What isn't working?

Is the distro you're using designed to run on an iPod? You can't just pop any distribution on there and expect it to work flawlessly.

I want to install Podzilla and Linux on my iPod Nano (2GB). I want to be able to play videos on it to put it simply. Here's the link I found EVERYWHERE. I installed it once (It's a simple GUI Installer), and it booted and everything worked fine, but it wouldn't play music, and the second time, I used a different installer off of a third-party website, and this time, I saw the bootup codes and all that stuff, but at the end it said "no such file: podzilla.(someextension)" So what I need is sort of a step by step guide, not necesarilly 6 pages long, even just a few words per step, on how to install it. Although I found some tutorials, al of them were for either Linux based or Apple based PCs, and the ones for windows were either outdates for the older generations of ipod, or for the regular iPod, or iPod Mini.... Thanks guys.

According to that site the nano is not officially supported, so chances are you're going to run into trouble.

Yeah, but the thing is I got it to work once, and If you look it up on Google Video, you'll se videos of it. Also, I actually saw it in real life, although this was on the 4 GB version.

I'm not sure I can really help you since I don't have an iPod. Have you tried asking your friend with the Linux iPod how he did it and if he could help you?

No mt friend didn't do it, he wants ME to do it FOR him. I just saw it in person on my cousin's friends iPod. And at the time I didn't have an iPod, nor was I planning to get one. I'd ask him now, but he lives 700 miles away, and if I ask my cousin to ask him, well you know how older siblings are?, he's worse than that :D .

Ok, if I were you I would go back and try the iPodLinux installer again and see if sound works this try. I noticed that iPodLinux does nightly builds so things apparently change on a daily basis.
