The SMx project doesn't have its own bank account, so the SMx funds are recordkept seperately but under the auspices of Short-Media.

//edit: removed the suggestion per Brian's suggestion below.

Ok, I'm in for $5/Mi for Gen Keebs and CB Droege.
Just let me know where to paypal it.
We need to email the attendees for walkers maybe and then we can have more sponsors from our huge membership.
Times getting down to the wire..... Only 9 1/2 days left! medium-smiley-064.gif

After I put up fliers in the school, I've already got 5 students/faculty signed up to sponsor me. :)

I will sponsor [strike]prof[/strike] at $5/mile, BUT, I want to make this interesting. I want to see if [strike]the (next to) oldest goat can keep up, so, prof, if [/strike]you win, then I will do $10/mile. and by win, I mean that you have to be the first to come across the finish line.:D

Edit: After seeing that some walkers needed sponsored, my money goes to who ever needs the sponsors, but its all going to the same place, the winning the race proposition still stands. In the even no one needs the sponsorship, it is to go the the most out of shape walker in sight:vimp:

I want vidoes of this!!, shoot, at that price, I could buy a GGW video, but I thikn I might get more satisfaction out of an old guy trying to win a walk.(hopefully someone will turn it into a race:bigggrin:)

    No. ;)

You'll have to walk backwards to avoid having to watch me pulling away in the distance - far out in front of you. :rarr:

In front of him? That would mean he will be ahead of you then. Since he is going backwards. :ninja:

    :shakehead

    Picture this:
    • I am ahead of QCH in the race. (Which I will be, I assure you.)
    • QCH sees that my lead is increasing. (I am "pulling away in the distance".)
    • QCH cannot bear to watch the humiliating sight of a 47yo guy outdoing him. (He's crying like a baby by this point.)
    • He turns a-friggin'-round and faces the starting line to avoid having to watch me as I close in on the finish line. (He is now walking backwards).

    Class dismissed.

I could never be humiliated by you... I would be celebrating that people your age can actually still walk. ;D

eh what the heck, i'll walk. i'll summon my inner Kenyan. but, in compared to the speeds you'll be going, it's more like i'm teleporting myself to the finish line. so i don't get lonely, i guess i'll pace myself just ahead of GHoosdum and his cloud of exhaust. xD

The only thing that stands in my way is the possibility that I'll be laughing too hard to do anything except roll around on the ground.

    You are not helping. ;D

Well I'll come all the way from Florida to walk for the cause and leave everyone in my ass-scented dust... You amatures do not even begin to compare to the power of my ass!!

It looks like the two long segments are about 2.5X the length of the two short ones. Does that sound about right?

This will help me to determine my overall strategy.

Long segments are one mile, short segments are 1/2 mile each. :)

Are there any pubs / bars on the route?

That might slow a few people down. ;)

Does that route pass through gang territory? Will we need to bring our BP vests?
