The Bitter Crumpet - Issue 2, week of 5/21/06

Thrax has returned for his second installment, this time taking on the Symantec / Microsoft duel, Apple's newest store, and McDonalds selling Asian culture to Asians... with the help of a special friend.
I bring you Space Penguin™ because I truly feel he captures the spirit of the Internet. Were he a living person (or penguin... whatever), he would have a MySpace account with some Staind or Disturbed screaming angrily in the background.

Must you be pedantic over the legend of Jimmy Hoffa? I don't care that they found him under some barn.. I still laugh at the idea that people thought he was buried under Fenway. heh.

Its too damn late for me, but I read it, although I didnt comprehend much of it. I have some writing material for a comming issue of the BC, you should talk about "trusted computing" and all the bs that is awaiting us in the next generation.

I'll read it again tomorrow and catch on to more of your humor.

Just so everyone knows, I stole space penguin first. And thrax, it is now mine, I have sent in a trademark and copyright request. You have been Skr3w3d:necro: :woowoo:

Just a thought, you might want to not mention your workplace in your column. I know you function under the anonymity afforded by the internet but (yes there always is one) you're pretty open with who the person behind the persona of Thrax is and since your opinion piece (although humor and meant in jest) is pretty brash and could be seen to run counter to the best interest of your employer (by possibly alienating future clientele) and could possibly result in anything from a reprimand to being terminated.

I just wanted to mention that.

    BTW, funny as hell...

What are the chances. Hm..I can see the conflict of interest, but could they fire him for that, I'm sure they can, even if they couldnt, they would find some other lameexcuse to do it. Although, I dont see why they would care as long as he isnt bringing it to work with him.

I've seen people getting fired from jobs for saying things that were negative about their jobs and not even mentioning the name of their workplace.

    It's just a thought.
