Cellphone ringtones??

Hey all...I hope this is the right place for this.

I just got a new cellphone, a Sony Ericsson z520a (work provides it, so I have no choice in hardware). The default ringtones hella suck, and I want to get a normal RINGING tone, no MP3, nothing fancy, just a garden variety ring. I've got a data cable for the phone, and d/l the driver software from the manufacturer.

Trouble is, when I search for ringtones, I get web spam from a bunch of places that APPEAR to be giving away ringtones, but then want to sell them to me.

So, I'm asking...what does one have to do to get alt. ringtones onto their cell phone? Where do you go to find tones? I'm not looking for anything pirated or copyrighted, purely free will do just fine. Thanks for your input.

im guessing the pub might be a better place for this, but whatever. I have verizon so I usually download my tones through sony music box, or vzw tones.

Yes, do only go to verifiable trusted sites. The independent ringtone sites are notorious for spam and spyware. They rank up there with porn and gambling sites. Sorry, I don't know any specific sites from which to download. I use my cellphone very little and don't care about the ringtone.

I rarely have it set to ring when someone calls. I usually keep in on vibrate.

i got couple pretty nice melody, but i'm at work right now, the work laptop does not have bluetooth, and most of my ringtones are in mp3 form.

I will try to upload some when i go back to my apartment.

Does your phone use MIDI files for the ringtones or is it one of the oldschool phones that doesn't let you really do anything other than "beam" tones to it?
