Do you have heatware or other references? You've posted a for-sale thread for new items (rather unusual) within minutes of signing up, which causes me concern. How did you come about having five sealed laptops, and why such limited payment options?

Bank transfers usually mean scam. I'm going to warn people to definitely reconsider until this trader posts some references or personal contact information.

Also: We don't allow trading without a traceable, valid ISP email address - no yahoo, gmail, aol, or other 'anonymous' email domains.

Also, anyone who is considering trading with this person, please verify which state he/she lives in - I have that info from the IP address and can verify it if you PM me.

That is completely out of line with EVERY computer-related trading post I've ever dealt with.

As an adjudicator and as moderator of the Deal Depot and Trading Post, I advise any Short-Media member contemplating trading with xonfigurator to only provide a payment after receiving your goods.

Xonfigurator, you may be honest as anyone else here, but considering you have zero reputation here (just joined today) and your suspicous method of receiving money, you have strong indicators of being a thief. I hope you aren't.

I would never do a bank transfer/western union type transfer ever. Those are almost untraceable, and leaves you open to get screwed big time. If this guy is serious, he needs to post some references, contact info, and needs to use a secure method of payment. The biggest question on my mind is how you happened upon 5 sealed laptops.

General Keebler and all others, I believe that we all have preferences in life, don't we? Limited options of payment is simply because I want it that way. If you don't like it, you can delete my membership on this forum.

And how come eveybody does not read my post entirely?

I won't go with your money. Chance is, you will go with my laptops. However, I am not afraid of that, because I send it to a registered postal address. I can knock on your door with feds. That's why I don't ship Internationally or deliver to PO Boxes. Got the points?

To anyone who said this sell lead is scam, dare to try? Give me your address and I will ship it to your door in 2-3 days.. You pay after you received the laptops. Anyone?

Well, if he is willing to give you the goods before money is sent, You really cant call it a scam, but I am still a little interested in how you happened upon 5 brand new laptops. Can you assure someone that these are legitimate products and are not 'hot'? No disrespect intended, as I'm sure there are plenty of ways to get these laptops, it is just that in this time and age we all live in, it seems like everyone is out to screw the other guy, and do it no matter what it takes; and we all have to be very cautious, because internet offers people a cloak of anynomity, and some people use that for devious purposes.

Enervex, I did think that there was a post limit or something on the TP&DD, 50 or something I thought it was.:confused2

There are no posting limits for anything on Short-Media.

We read the post. We've also been using the Internet for more than a week. That's often how it starts, then the person asks for a bank transfer to be set up first "in good faith".

This reply also did not resolve the fact that you must register with a traceable e-mail address, not a gmail, yahoo, or hotmail account. Please fix this in your account control panel. You also have not provided any references. These are the full rules of trading on Short-Media.

I think you can understand how all this has set off alarm bells with the staff. If you fix the e-mail account business and provide references you are free to proceed, but I would expect a warning from a staff member in any thread you create asking for payment in such a manner. This is an open community, but it is also a very close one, and the leaders of it take their job very seriously.
