Firefox 2.0 Beta 1 Download

Mozilla has released the download of the first beta of its Firefox 2.0 browser a few days early. Originally scheduled for an 11 July release, some users found the 5.4 MB release candidate file on Mozilla's public FTP servers already Sunday night.
Don't expect dramatic changes, but rather subtle improvements in Firefox' user interface. For example, the "Options" menu has been reorganized and every browser tab now carries its own "Close" symbol - instead of showing the logo on the right edge of the browser tab. During our first test run, the beta appeared to run stable, but - as all Firefox updates - may require updated versions of previously installed browser extensions.

Heh, I was talking to someone in a Linux channel the other day that was in the process of trying to compile Firefox 3.0 (albiet not having much luck due to it's current state).

I'm running it now on three computers. No problems so far. I have few addons or fancy stuff integrated, so can't comment on that stuff.

I just wish my theme would work, I dont know why they would have changed it, the ui is almost the same. I hear 3 is going to be quite a bit different though. The theme I had was almost identical to the original theme, although, the buttons were a little smooter, and they were glossy/polished.
