Is my harddrive gone
hey, my sister accidentally must have downloaded some spyware yesterday. i proceeded to download Spyware Doctor 4 and i ran a scan and it froze when i was trying to quarentine things. so i turned off the computer and turned it back on and windows XP was able to boot and was able to log onto peoples names without a problem. But today that isnt happening. whenever i try to log onto someone's name the blank desktop shows up without icons and after a couple of seconds a blue screen comes up saying:
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Windows Logon Process System process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xc0000005 (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has been shutdown.
All I can do then is shut down the computer. I've tried going into the different safemodes and still have the same problem. PLEASE HELP! i dont know whether i have to reboot my computer, get a new one, or just leave it alone!

To view recent BDOD errors:
right-click on my computer again, hit manage, in the left-hand pane expand the event viewer and select "system". in the right-hand pane click the source column header once to alphabetize by source, then scroll down and find the "save dump" events under the source colum. double-click each one
CAUSE
The STOP 0xC000021A error occurs when either Winlogon.exe or Csrss.exe fails. When the Windows NT kernel detects that either of these processes has stopped, it stops the system and raises the STOP 0xC000021A error. This error may have several causes, including, but not limited to the following:
• Mismatched system files have been installed.
• A Service Pack installation has failed.
• A backup program that as used to restore a hard disk did not correctly restore files that may have been in use.
• An incompatible third party program been installed.
Per Microsoft,
"If Windows does not start, restart Windows by using the Last Known Good Configuration feature:
Start the computer and then press the F8 key when Windows begins to start.
The Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
Use the ARROW keys to select Last Known Good Configuration (your most recent settings that worked), and then press ENTER.
If a boot menu appears, use the ARROW keys to select Microsoft Windows XP, and then press ENTER. Windows XP restores the computer to the most recent restore point."
Once you get Windows to boot, run an up to date virus checker just in case your problems are being caused by a virus. If you are able to go online, you can use our Free Virus Scan:
