Both are ///SOLD///

Pentium D 820, Two For Sale, $85 each shipped, both $160 shipped

One of the CPUs is lapped - shiny copper finish, if that tickles your fancy.

Dual Core
2.8GHz/core
800MHz FSB
SL88T
L525B076
Stepping: 4, rev. A0

Both of these ran without hiccup at 3.7GHz on air, 24/7 with Folding@Home, two instances engaged. They will clock higher, but not at full load. Cooling was Big Typhoon or Scythe Ninja and motherboards Asus P5WD2. Both of these CPUs were a breeze to clock at 3.5GHz on Asus P5WD2, P5LD2, P5PL2, and MSI 945P Neo-2 F.

If you are looking for low cost entry to dual core or very good Folding@Home CPUs, the 820s are a super bang for the buck. Note: if you intend to overclock, you will need better than average air cooling.

I will ship USPS Priority. Payment is PayPal or personal check, the latter only if I know you or you've got a well-documented trading history.

Pending sale on the unlapped CPU.

Lapped CPU is still available. BTW, the lapped CPU is just that - no physical alterations, just evened out the heatspreader's surface and buffed it to a mirror finish.

    UPDATE: Unlapped CPU is SOLD.
    This one is still available:

If you are an active Team 93 Short-Media Folding@Home member, I'll chop off another $10 dollars.

For you, this processor would be $75 shipped. I dare you to find a more powerful processor for that money!

have a board? I have not intel boards besides a slot 1 board. lemme check if anyone has a 775 board.

how baddly do you think that this would outrun a S754 2800?

If both were run at stock speeds, they would be comparable.

    My best estimate:

The S754 2800 would probably beat the 820 gaming at stock CPU frequency
At idle or low-load computer usage, the two CPUs would probably be at a draw.
The 820 would clobber the 2800 in Folding@Home with two instances running.
The 820 would clobber the 2800 in multi-tasking - that's really were dual core CPUs start to shine brightly.

If you intend to overclock the 820, and it overclocks very high, you would need very good air cooling. If run at stock speed, the CPU will work with the retail cooler. I have one from another CPU, but it's not included with this sale. I could include it though, but I'd need to bump the price for shipping.

I'm going on a business trip starting tomorrow early and will be out for a week. I should though have Internet access with my laptop. Do to the anticipated workload and possible lack of internet connection at my lodging, my Short-Media access may be spotty.

I'll do my best to keep up with this thread and any associated PMs.
