Trying to forward a UDP port on Netgear router

I can't find the option.

I've attached a screenie of my settings, and here is a link to the instructions on the website... The other models (I have the MR814) tell how to select UDP versus TCP... My instructions do not...

Does all this just mean that I need a router with more features?

Maybe the "add a custom service" button?

That's what I've been doing, because the program I want to use is not in the list of presets. Here's a screenie of the 'add custom service' page...

I can't find the UDP option.

Maybe it automatically forwards UDP & TCP?

CB, my son has the MR814 at school so I happen to have the .pdf of the manual on my hard drive so I can talk him through things. Forget the wizard. Don't you have a menu like this? If you just click on the link shown by the arrow on this attachment, you'll get to port forwarding.

It do not see where you specify UDP vs. TCP. Maybe it forwards both? What if you just give your machine a static IP and forward per the instructions? Still doesn't work?

That doesn't work... It seems to only be forwarding TCP. I've borrowed a router to trouble shoot with, and it (A Linksys) has a drop down menu to let me choose, I think my router simple doesn't do it, but I'll try selecting UDP with this one, and if it still doesn't work, then I know it's not the router...

Well, This router did just fine, and the person who lent it to me told me to keep it when I told them it worked, so now I can properly forward my ports :)

One more reason why Netgear sucks.
