    Thermalright heatsink + 80mm fan...

    SK-7, SLK-800, or SLK-900 with a Sunon KD1208PTB2-6 fan (80mm) or KD1209PTB2-6 (92mm, for the -900). For something quieter (the Sunons are standard medium-noise case fans) an 80 or 92mm stealth would be fine.

    Volcano = Molten cores!!!

    Thermaltake is for looking cool

    Thermalright is for keeping it cool

    How is the SK-7 and Stealth over the top? It's quiet, and it cools well. Yes, it can OC, but that doesn't mean that you have to OC it.

    Are you looking at the V7, or the V7+? The V7 is C-R-A-P. Pure, unadaulterated Crap. Look at where the thermistor is placed- the fan will never speed up.

    Barring the SK, I'd get a Zalman CNPS7000A-ALCU, a Thermaltake Silent Boost, a Thermalright AX-7, a Vocano 9 or Volcano 11, an OCZ Gladiator 3 (be careful not to get teh one with the Delta 7k fan!), or any of Ajigo's MF series of heatsinks (the retail AMD HSF for 2200s and higher is the MF033-032, and it performs pretty well; the rest of the MF heatsinks look very similar, so you should be fine with any of them, altho you may want to double check ajigo's site...)

    Hell, the SLK900a is only $29.95 at svcompucycle right now. Will that break the farkin bank?;) With that heatsink and a variable speed fan you can dial in your tolerance of noise. Top tier cooling at mid tier prices.:)
