Window can'tlocate Hard-Drives or boot

edited September 2006 in Science & Tech
Hello,
I have two drives. REcently my windows xp became corrupted and I did a fresh install. Everything was working fine again. (I reset the drive letters for my slave drive and for the cd and dvd drives- I don't know if this caused the problem).

Today I booted up and my drives were not detected. If I disconnect my slave drive then the master is located and boots up fine. If I disconnect the master and only connect the slave it boots up too- it has my old wind 98 system on it. But when hooked up together they don't run.

I changed cable but no help. These same drives worked together for 2 years before my windows became corrupted. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kim

Have you experimented with different jumper position settings on the drives? You might try setting both the hard drives to cable select.

    Thanks Leonardo!

Resetting the jumpers fixed my problem.
