MOBO for D 915

Am looking to upgrade my computer and install a new mother board and cpu. Am looking at the D 915 and was wondering what motherboard people would recommend. Price is an issue, am trying to do this for around $170 for the motherboard. Should I get chipset 975x? Would also make this my first overclocking venture.

    A knockout combination for the D 915 is the Asus P5WD2 series, standard or Premium models. These boards are chipset 945 and 955X (hand picked 945) and rock stable, great overclockers, and easy to configure in the BIOS. If you are looking to upgrade later to Conroe, then you will want a 965 chipset board, or a 975X chipset board. If the latter, please first research it well. Some of the earlier 975X boards, such as the P5WD2 E Premium had some problems with Conroe.

    Also, excuse my ignorance, but I think that some of the 965 boards are not compatible with 'D' series dual core Intel CPUs.
