It's currently being looked into. It's a rather strange situation since the apache http server decides to shut off at 3am EST every night.

I've checked all cron processes, and there isn't anything there that would cause the problem. The recent mysql error (a minute ago) was something that just needed a server reboot to fix (even Linux needs it sometimes!)

I'm suspicious of the init script that is currently being used; we'll remove it and create a new once, since it might be that which is causing problems. I guess I'll have to stay up to midnight to find out if it worked though :P

Yea seems like John nailed the problem. Mortin has been behaving and is the first night (depending on what side of the globe you on) it has not gone down.

That's cool for us on the other side of the pond as I normally do most of my reading and catching up on the forums while the rest of the world sleeps.

Well, he refused to eat his oatmeal, then spilled his juice all over the floor.

I guess that's what comes of being two years old... :(

(The site has been fine, as near as I have seen. )

This time it had nothing to do with the server, I swear!

There was an outage at the datacenter - the whole mess was down - all my servers, my provider's servers, everything.

    We're back up! :D

I can back this up. Our company website and email were down, which are being hosted by Brian in the same datacenter.

Well I for one am very grateful that the server has been behaving.
Also I don't feel so bad now about the regular power outages we get here. Seems to be a universal problem :(
