Ebay cracks down on PS3 Pre-orders

A number of PS3s have already appeared on eBay, marked up by thousands of dollars; however Ebay seems to be cracking down on those listing the pre-ordered PS3 console's for outrageous prices.

These are machines that are being pre-ordered by staff at games stores and listed on Ebay with a huge mark-up. The antics of the store owners have been attracting attention from PS3 fans, who fear a repeat of the Xbox 360 debacle, where store owners and managers took advantage of a unit shortage, taking the consoles off their shelves and flogging them on eBay.
However, it seems that eBay has decided to ban such sales. PS3 pre-orders with huge mark-ups appear to have been pulled from the auction site, upon the orders of eBay HQ. It is unlikely to stop the black-market in PS3s taking off when the console is released, but it is a start.

Anyone who pays that much for game system that will be a fraction of that price in only a couple months does not have a real life. Sad, really.
