Partitioning

Hello. I am new here and now almost nothing about computers. One thing I need help with is this:

I have signed up for Vista beta testing and would like to install RC1, but can't right now because I need to put it on a separate partition, a partition I don't have. So can anybody here give me steps/advice/etc on partitioning my drive?

    You'll need disk partitioning software, like Partition Magic. There are free alternative available, like Partition Resizer, but they tend to be unsupported and harder to use.

    My computer does not have a floppy drive. Will this program work fine off of a bootable DVD?

    Also, does this program require much knowledge of this sort of stuff? Or is it something where I just tell it how big I want the partition and it does the rest?
