Before i restart in safe mode, last time i did that, my whole screen was way out of resolution, like all zoomed in, and i could only see like half my desktop icons. After i restarted back into normal mode everything was back to normal. Any ideas before i go back to trying safe mode?
Yes, easy solution to see everything is just go into Windows Explorer or My Computer and look at the folders/icons list in Desktop. I'm a neatnick and keep my desktop clean except for only one icon - Recycle Bin.

Ty Leo ^^

Trogan- Please man, do everything you can to help me figure out how somebody keeps getting my world of warcraft account info. I had been copying and pasting my password from a notepad file, so evidently this keylogger that i have can eaither A. read things you can copy and paste or B. read files on my computer. I've done multiple scans and we've deleted a bunch of virus's but now pretty much everything comes up clean and just last night somebody got ahold of my account info. I am completley puzzled. I did not enter the password on anything besides the game itself and the actual world of warcraft site, both in which, i copied and pasted from a notepad file. Please help me figure out what in the hell is going on, I am completley puzzled.

Go to this file:

c:\windows\system32\ou6sound.dll

Right-click and select Properties. Go to the version tab, and tell me what is under Company. Also, tell me what other info you see.

Please RIGHT-CLICK HERE and Save As (in IE it's "Save Target As") to download Silent Runners.
• Save it to the desktop.
• Run Silent Runner's by doubleclicking the "Silent Runners" icon on your desktop.
• You will see a text file appear on the desktop - it's not done, let it run (it won't appear to be doing anything!)
• Once you receive the prompt "All Done!", double-click the new text file on the desktop, copy that entire log, and paste it here.
*NOTE* If you receive any warning message about scripts, please choose to allow the script to run.

Friend told me this...
"I don't like the looks of those Winsock LSPs

O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\ou6sound.dll
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\ou6sound.dll

You could try restoring them by using WinXP LSP Fix (forgot the name of the utility, it's been a couple of years since I've been doing spyware/virus removal)

I don't know what these are but they don't look too friendly:

O16 - DPF: {193C772A-87BE-4B19-A7BB-445B226FE9A1} (ewidoOnlineScan Control) - http://download.ewido.net/ewidoOnlineScan.cab
O16 - DPF: {4C39376E-FA9D-4349-BACC-D305C1750EF3} (EPUImageControl Class) - http://tools.ebayimg.com/eps/wl/acti..._v1-0-3-48.cab
O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} (Personal System Administrator Control) - http://206.65.172.231/check/netset//...l/gtdowngc.cab

This may be a keylogger if it still exists somewhere:
O20 - Winlogon Notify: win_spool2 - win_spool2.dll (file missing)
http://www.sophos.com/security/analyses/trojsckeylogg.html"

On that site I found

Troj/SCKeyLog-G is spyware which runs background processes and allows activity to be monitored on remote systems.

Troj/SCKeyLog-G includes detection for the following components:

VPASPScanner.exe

CGIScanner.exe

PHPScanner.exe

which represent a monitoring tool that captures users' activity, saves it to an encrypted logfile and periodically sends it to the intruder.

When executed the main component extracts a main executable and a dll file to the Windows system32 folder, installs a background service, changes the system registry and sends the notification email to the remote address.

The executables may have the following filenames:

secsrvrc.exe

secsrvrc.dll

win_spool2.exe

win_spool2.dll<

with the corresponding registry entries:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

Run "secsrvrc"=C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\secsrvrc.exe"

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\

Run\ win_spool2 ="C:\\WINDOWS\\System32\\win_spool2.exe"

Would you recommend I follow the removal instructions at http://www.sophos.com/security/analyses/trojsckeylogg.html

-Edit- Nvm way to confusing.. Trogan, what to do now??? lol, im so excited that we're maybe getting close to solving this
• TroganTrogan London, UK
edited November 2006
First, remove this entry with HJT:
O16 - DPF: {DBA230D1-8467-4e69-987E-5FAE815A3B45} (Personal System Administrator Control) - http://206.65.172.231/check/netset//...l/gtdowngc.cab

Second, I'm hesitant to remove those O10 entries because it may remove your internet connection, but I believe they are the cause of your problems.

Third, those HijackThis entries should not be this hard to remove, and I do not understand why they are not going.

Give me a few minutes while I look through the Silent Runners log, and write new instructions.
• TroganTrogan London, UK
edited November 2006
Lets run another tool:

1. Download this file - combofix.exe
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

Rescan with Silent Runners and post a new log too.
• edited November 2006
K, i removed that. what about the win_spool thing my friend told me about and showed me a link saying it is a keylogger?
• TroganTrogan London, UK
edited November 2006
Thats part of it, but the main keylogger is this:

O20 - Winlogon Notify: explorer - explorer.dll (file missing)
• edited November 2006
Please forget the combofix thing, I ran it and first it was working, then i got a blank screen, then my computer restarted for no reason and I have no log

-Edit- So how do we remove it??
• TroganTrogan London, UK
edited November 2006
This is going too good. :(

Download Killbox and save it to your desktop.

Next, copy everything in the Quote box below by pressing Ctrl+C
c:\WINDOWS\system32\win_spool2.dll
c:\WINDOWS\system32\explorer.dll
Next, open Killbox
Go to File tab and select Paste from Clipboard
Select the Delete on Reboot option
Select All Files
Now click on the Red Circle with the White X
Press Yes to reboot your computer.

Once rebooted, get HijackThis to remove these entries (make sure you have every single window closed, accept HJT)

O20 - Winlogon Notify: explorer - explorer.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: win_spool2 - win_spool2.dll (file missing)

Post a new log after.

When I hit paste from clipboard, the file path of file to delete box stays empty, is it supposed to?
• edited November 2006
Ok well I copied each individual one into the box and clicked the red x , and got a popup saying Pending file name operations Registry Data has been removed by external process, then my computer doesnt reboot, im gonna go manually reboot now and post a hijack this log, see if it did anything

I don't need to see ComboFix 1, and this log is clean. It likely ran now because the infection has gone.

I want you to run one last scan to make sure that everything is clean.

Do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
• The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
• Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
• Now click on Scan Settings
• In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
• Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
• Scan Options:
Scan Archives
Scan Mail Bases

[*]Click OK
[*]Now under select a target to scan:
Select
My Computer

[*]This will program will start and scan your system.
[*]The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
[*]Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
• Now click on the Save as Text button:
[*]Save the file to your desktop.

Post the Kaspersky log, along with a new HijackThis log.
