"Meet the Press" and "NBC Nightly News" will be available immediately after airing.
"NBC Nightly News" will mark the first full evening newscast available for download on iTunes, although ABC News started offering 15-minute "World News Now" podcasts on iTunes in January and the "CBS Evening News" is simulcasted on the web.
From what I've been seeing, NBC has been perhaps the most proactive of the networks in trying to incorporate web viewership into its business plan (I'm specifically thinking of its deal with YouTube as well). Is this the future wave of nightly news?

OK, I'll give points for forward thinking. As for TV news coverage and quality, what a yawner. Of all the news formats available, television news, what little there is sandwhiched between the commercials is superficial and low value. I think the worst place to get news, second only to tabloids, is television. It's designed for entertainment and for a lowest common denominator audience.

Why would anyone want podcasted television news when there are so many, high quality news services on the Internet? Anyone has at the tip of their fingers any time of day everything ranging from the Economist to the Drudge Report, including the the major broadcast networks' Internet sites.

Sometimes I get the impression that anything somehow is elevated in prestige if it is available via podcast.
